Technical Notes

This tool utilizes the combined bending and axial load method to determine pressure distribution. In the event that the resultant load falls outside the kern (central core) of the base, the system performs an iterative recalculation of the contact zone, adjusting the pressure diagram to maintain static equilibrium (effective compressed area).

Note on Design Limits: The calculations provided are serviceability checks (Service Limit State). For a definitive execution design, it is recommended to apply the corresponding factors of safety and perform a differential settlement analysis, both of which are available in the full Foundaxis suite.
